How Much Does Laundry Pickup and Delivery Actually Cost in Glasgow

Let’s be honest: life in Glasgow is busy. Between the commute, the school run, and trying to catch a bit of sun when it actually appears, the last thing anyone wants is a mountain of damp washing taking over the living room.

Laundry pickup and delivery has gone from a luxury to a total lifesaver for professionals and families across the city. But the big question we always get is: "Right, but what’s it going to cost me?"

I’m going to break down how the pricing works, what affects the bill, and show you exactly what a typical order looks like so you can stop guessing.

What goes into the price?

Not every bag of laundry is created equal. Here are the four things that usually move the needle on the price:

1. The Weight (The "Service Wash") Most of your everyday stuff—jeans, t-shirts, socks—is priced by weight or load size. Think of it as your "bulk" wash. A small basket for a single person is obviously going to be cheaper than a week's worth of kit for a family of five.

2. The "Special Care" Items Your basic service wash covers the basics:

  • T-shirts & Hoodies

  • Socks & Underwear

  • Towels & Bedding

But if you’ve got a suit that needs dry cleaning, a delicate silk dress, or shirts that need a professional hand-finish, those are handled separately and need to be booked in for Dry Cleaning..

3. How Fast You Need It If you’re in no major rush, our standard turnaround is the most budget-friendly. If you’ve realized you have nothing to wear for a wedding tomorrow and need a 24-hour or even “same day emergency" turnaround, you’ll usually pay a bit of a premium for us to jump you to the front of the queue.

4. The Finishing Touches Do you need it Ironed to perfection? These little extras can save you even more time but can add a few pounds to the total.

Realistic Examples (What our Glasgow customers actually pay)

To give you a better idea, here are three common orders we see every week:

Example 1: The "Busy Professional"

Ideal for: One person keeping on top of the work week.

  • Typical Items: 5–7 shirts, gym gear, socks/underwear, and a couple of towels.

  • The Vibe: Usually fits into a standard small service wash (around £15).

  • Best for: Getting your Sunday back.

Example 2: The "Couple’s Weekly Pile"

Ideal for: Two people who want to avoid the "drying rack in the hallway" look.

  • Typical Items: A mix of everyday clothes, work wear, towels, and a full set of bed sheets.

  • The Vibe: A medium-sized order that covers the essentials (Usually somewhere between £20 - 25).

  • Best for: Freeing up your evenings for something better than folding socks.

Example 3: The "Family Mountain"

Ideal for: Households with kids (and the endless laundry they create).

  • Typical Items: School uniforms, play clothes, towels, bedding, and maybe those bulky hoodies that take forever to dry.

  • The Vibe: A larger, multi-load order (usually from around £30, depending on the weight).

  • Best for: Maintaining your sanity and actually seeing your carpet again.

Is it more expensive than doing it yourself?

If you only look at the price of a scoop of detergent, then yes. But that’s not the whole story.

When you factor in the cost of electricity (tumble dryers aren't cheap!), the time spent loading/unloading, and the eternal struggle of trying to get clothes dry in the Glasgow humidity, the "value" changes.

With pickup and delivery, you're paying for:

  • Time: Hours of your life back every week.

  • Space: No more clothes horses cluttering up your flat.

  • Peace of Mind: Knowing it’ll come back fresh, dry, and ready to wear.

Pro-Tips to Keep Your Costs Down

  • Go Big: It’s usually more cost-effective to do one big weekly pickup than two small ones.

  • Check Your Pockets: It sounds simple, but double-checking for "Dry Clean Only" labels stops you from paying for specialized services you might not have needed.

  • Be Clear on Ironing: If you only need your work shirts ironed but are happy to fold your own gym leggings, tell us! Customizing your order keeps the price right for you.
